Thamizhachi Thangapandian, also known as Sumathy, is an Indian poet, lyricist, orator, politician and writer. She has been a member of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India, since the 2019 Indian general election as a member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). She worked as a lecturer in English at Queen Mary’s College, Chennai before entering politics.
